Moose Creek Estates (MCE) is an alpine community that is governed by the laws of nature. Since 2002, we have invested $2 mm to restore the natural habitat and enhance the environment. Enveloped by National Forest, these 221 acres of secluded, mountainous terrain lie at the confluence of the North Fork of the Salmon River and Moose Creek. The land along this tributary has been set aside for a greenbelt and hiking trail.
Moose Creek Estates is home to a diverse wildlife population. Our "open range" serves as a migratory pathway for elk; every September brings the bugling "choir" out from the forests. On early-morning hikes, it is not uncommon to happen upon moose grazing by the greenbelt. The spring and the fall find the river teaming with a variety of trout. We are truly blessed to share this thriving habitat with all kinds of creatures, both great and small.
"Designing with the elements" is the philosophy that guides our construction practices at Moose Creek. It's not enough to merely consider the environment; we pursue a design equation that actually enhances the ecology.
